Please be advised that while nothing will be done by our techs to purposely cause loss of data and files from your computer, mechanical failure of computer components can happen without warning, and virus infections can cause unpredictable problems. If you have important information on your computer such as family pictures or financial records, and wish to minimize your risk of data loss, please inquire about our back-up services which can be performed before intensive diagnostic tests or virus removal.

Problems originating from faults within the physical structure of a computer are usually more serious than those created by software errors. If something has gone wrong with your computer’s hardware, then the defective part will most likely need to be replaced. If the defective part (such as a hard drive) contains data, then there is a high probability that this data has been lost and cannot be recovered. In certain cases, where it may be possible to resurrect your data, and you would like us to try and save it, we may need to take your computer back to our workshop in order to try and retrieve it. Please remember that because hardware faults (especially hard drive faults) are potentially the most dangerous to your data, our technicians make no guarantee that they will be able to recover your lost data.

If a problem or issue was not corrected during a repair, and the same symptoms occur again as before, then SJH Computing will make every attempt to fix that problem. If a problem occurs as the result of improper setup, installation, or upgrade then SJH Computing will make every attempt to remedy the issue. SJH Computing cannot be held responsible for any loss of programs or data, and it’s up to the customer to have a backup. SJH Computing cannot be held responsible for any damage to equipment such as laptops or desktop PCs before, during or after we’ve carried out the work.

Please keep in mind also if the Operating System Reload Service is required, you will be contacted first by us before we perform the service. You may opt to have us backup your information before we perform the service for an additional charge. An Operating System Reload requires the computer hard drive to be formatted and erased before reinstalling the Operating System software. An Operating System Reload also requires that you reinstall all printer drivers, and additional software that you may have installed since the original purchase of the computer. We cannot restore computer programs from backup. They must be reinstalled from their original sources. We can only use original purchased software and / or registration keys.

We will not install any cracked, pirated, shareware or P2P programs such as Limewire.

Repairs and upgrades are guaranteed for 90 days and a 12 month warranty of all hardware purchase. Our guarantee/warranty does not include any issues created and/or caused by the “end user” such as new virus infections, tampering (such as overclocking), accidents, abuse, power surges, accidental damage, etc.

Our no fix, no fee policy means if we cannot find the problem, you do not have to pay us a penny. However if you do not want to go ahead with the work, there is a diagnostic fee of £25. Please note, the no fix, no fee policy does not apply to data recovery or business customers.
