If you are using Microsoft Office 365 for your email system, you need to be aware of some important changes that are taking place at the end of October 2017.
From the 31st October, Microsoft are changing the way Outlook connects to the Office 365 platform. They are moving to a more secure ‘MAPI over HTTP’ protocol which allows for more efficient data transfer and secure authentication.
Unfortunately, Microsoft Outlook 2007 and earlier versions will no longer work with the new protocol with no plans to update them. This means anyone using Outlook 2007 or earlier will no longer have access to their emails after 31st October 2017. The only option is to upgrade.
Newer versions of Outlook (such as Outlook 2010, 2013 and 2016) will also need to be updated to ensure they work after the switch over.
