Privacy Policy

At SJH Computing, we want to reassure you that we take your data privacy seriously and only use it for the force of good (helping to keep your IT under control!). We know it’s frustrating to hear about another data breach or how your data has been sold to another company to bombard you with irrelevant adverts – so we just don’t do it. We take steps to ensure that your data is safe by only using compliant and tested platforms, using top security on our own systems along with making sure its backed up (many times!) This policy is here to explain when and why we collect data, how it’s used, if there are any potential limited conditions in where your data will be disclosed and how it’s kept secure. Read on!

This site uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. When someone visits sjhcomputing.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

As part of the registration process for our monthly e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing info@sjhcomputing.co.uk

As part of providing a service we will need to collect relevant data from yourself (the client). This will be limited to only relevant data for the job, contacting before, during and after the job relating to the job at hand. This information is used for invoicing and job management. We may ask you as part of the process if you would be interested in future offers from us but this will be an opt in process. Likewise when you contact us via the sjhcomputing.co.uk website you will be providing us relevant information to deliver services of interest to you and no other reason. If purchasing goods from us online, likewise the information provided is only for supplying purchased goods and for invoicing purposes. Data is stored securely by compliant platforms.

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer by using our contact form or by calling our number 01543 889 444

We will review this policy annually and/or whenever necessary. Please check back whenever you want!
